Job Description:
WTL Device Management team is part of prestigious Client R&D division and is a leader in Mobile Device Management Technologies. Device Management team develops standards based remote Device Management (DM), Data Synchronization(DS) and Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) solutions. These solutions enable remote management and diagnostics of the device and over the air patching of the device software. These solutions are successfully deployed to leading global wireless carriers in US, Europe, Japan and China.
The Embedded protocol developer is key member of Device Management team. They design, develop and commercialize device management protocols on industry leading handset platforms. They have a strong background in embedded software development and debugging – with ability and expertise to write protocols, applications, UI and challenging optimization algorithms. They are open- minded and possess a drive to learn new things in a very short time – to get things done. They will work with a team of like-minded mobile handset engineers to build applications of a next generation wireless handset.
JOB DUTIES
- Design, develop and commercialize future OMA standards
- Collaborate with server companies and perform trials of new technologies and deploy to the market
- Measure and characterize performance of the applications, suitably improve performance as needed
- Be the in-house Guru for one or more handset platforms
- Travel to Korea, other overseas Samsung offices and customer sites (worldwide) for 2-3 weeks at a time to assist in integration, commercialization activities. There may be 3-4 such trips per year.

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience working with SyncML DM/DS/FOTA is a big plus
- In depth knowledge of at least one of the mobile platforms such as Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile (CE), Linux-mobile, BREW, or equivalent
- Very strong in OO design and abstraction skills
- Experience in working with embedded systems, platforms and RTOS – at least one RTOS (Nucleus, pSOS, VxWorks, RT-Linux, REX etc.)
- Very strong embedded debugging skills – especially with a JTAG debugger
- Masters degree in CS is desired, but not required
