Job Description:
Lead the product management for rugged mobile computing products used in police cars and fire trucks, specifically WLAN and 802.11 access points and modems. Manage activities throughout the product lifecycle, from product requirements gathering to product development launch and delivery to end-of-life transitions and execution as well as field and customer support.
Market Product Management
Develop market and product requirements. Co-develop a Business Plan including product definition, segmentation, competitive analysis and differentiation strategies, revenue, margin and volume goals. Analyze applicable market data to support target market selection including segment sizes and coverage. Analyze and project future competitive product positions appropriate for product life cycle. Develop and execute appropriate market research plans to support concept, definition and positioning validation worldwide. Develop product positioning including key messages and communication plans. Develop lifecycle demand forecast and pricing plans. Develop and maintain three-year roadmap and business plan for the product or product line. Manage cross functional launch process in conjunction with Go-to-Market team. Support regions, as needed, in development of launch deliverables, including advertising, product brochures, product specs, press releases, etc.
Job Requirements:
Engineering Product Management
Work with engineering teams to gain agreement on product definition including options. Drive the appropriate enabling technology hardware and software, attributes, and features through the product line. Need to understand underlying technology trends, platform computing trends, and interface requirements for operating systems and applications. Develop competitive analysis including current and projected competitive product moves.
Requires an MSEE or BSEE with MBA with at least 5+ years in Product Management of LMR, WLAN, and 802.11 access points and modem products used in ruggedized wireless radio products. Must have a proven track record in product planning, market research, requirements development, launch, and life cycle management for high-tech products sold into governments or enterprises; Integrated marketing experience and skills also desired. Knowledge of video technologies such as compression, streaming, analytics a MUST! US citizen or US permanent resident only.
