Safety Specialist/Engineer
Duration: Direct Hire
Pay: $40-55K, plus full benefits - 401k, dental, vision and 12 days paid vacation
Hours: Full-time
Educational Requirements: BS/BA (Engineering preferred – BSME, Product or Mfg Engr)
Description: Manufacturer in NC is currently conducting interviews for the position of Safety Specialist/Engineer. Will report to EHS Manager. CSP helpful. This is a great opportunity offering full benefits, room for advancement and limited travel.
Duties:
1.) Investigate incidents; make sure machines meet OSHA standards - (Responsible for OSHA log reports; must be familiar with OSHA requirements) 2.) Lead safety steering committee meetings; conduct monthly drug/alcohol testing 3.) Responsible for inspection and training where needed

1.) BS/BA (Engineering preferred – BSME, Product or Mfg Engr)
2.) 2-4 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry; past experience as a product engineer, manufacturing engineer or safety manager preferred
3.) Needs leadership ability to be able to enforce safety program, be risk-taker; able to deal with resistance to change professionally
4.) Candidate must be able to relate to all levels of employee up to and including company president
5.) Good technical, presentation and communication skills
6.) Familiarity with OSHA requirements
