Engineering Specialist - DER (Structures)
Duration: Direct-hire
Pay: Competitive salary based on experience
Hours: Full-time
Educational Requirements: Engineering degree a plus
Description: Challenge, opportunity, growth and stability will be yours as a DER Engineering Specialist with this leading business jet manufacturer. Working with the Certification group to provide data approval for structural installations of interior, avionics, & aircraft structures. Coordinate requirements for approval with Engineering & Quality Control. Assist in any other certification related activities required. Interface with FAA on certification issues.
Responsibilities:
1.) Determine applicable FARS.
2.) Conduct FAR compliance inspections and coordinate development of test programs. Review engineering documents. Determine compliance with FARS
3.) Determine required testing
4.) Plan and/or conduct testing
5.) Control certification data & projects
6.) Prepare/approve certification documents
7.) Interface with FAA personnel as applicable
8.) Assure compliance with regulatory requirements of other countries

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
1.) DER delegation in Structures
2.) Thorough working knowledge of FARS
3.) Cognizant of related technical requirements of civil approval of aircraft
4.) Possess integrity, sound judgment, & cooperative attitude
5.) Minimum of 1 year of experience in direct contact with FAA
6.) Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible engineering experience in projects related to structural installations. (Education at a college or university of recognized standing may be substituted for up to 4 years of the experience requirement.)
