As an Audit Manager, you will directly supervise audits performed by internal audit staff, and develop & conduct quality assurance activities within the department. We’ll look to you to lead engagements and provide comprehensive and compliant audit recommendations to the business. Among your key accountabilities, you will lead changes to Internal Audit ways of working, policies, programs and procedures that will build capabilities in financial & operational auditing and add to the overall efficiency of the department. You will lead complex audit engagements requiring detailed planning that incorporates comprehensive analysis to identify business risks and determine audit objectives. As part of this responsibility, you will develop audit programs, utilize data analysis tools and direct an audit team through the audit process, ensuring audit reports and work papers are completed in an efficient and timely manner. We’ll rely on you to develop recommendations and guide our managers to resolve issues related to business process controls design. We seek a self-directed, strong leader who can build, coach and mentor a high performing audit team, and who can effectively manage third-parties engaged in audit activities. To be effective in this role, it will be critical that you stay current on developments in the audit profession, industry and within the company, and that you network with internal & external organizations to tap into their collective knowledge.
Job Requirements:
To qualify, you’ll need 8+ years of prior audit experience, preferably within a Big 4 CPA firm and a large, multi-national company. Retail and /or apparel experience is helpful. Experience in leading multiple domestic and international engagements including audits of financial processes, plants, distribution centers, affiliates and operational processes is also required. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline, along with an MBA, CPA, CIA, CISA or equivalent work experience. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in auditing and consulting to the business on best practices for business processes, financial accounting and reporting risks to ensure compliance with GAAP and external reporting requirements. The ability to refine audit processes to ensure a high level of efficiency is essential, as is an understanding of how to apply the principles of the COSO Internal Control Framework in planning & conducting audits. Critical to the job is the proven ability to coach audit teams to produce excellent results and drive performance improvements, along with the ability to be persuasive when working with clients and yet balanced in the application of internal control principles. Mandatory travel — 20% - 40%
