The candidates should meet the following criteria:
- BSc in Computer Science or related discipline. - A minimum of 3 years experience in SAP systems engineering, configuration, operations & maintenance, 1 of which must involve administration of Java Web Application Server. - Must be proficient in XI and EP administration. - A minimum of 2 years experience in Project environment. - A minimum of 1 year experience in a role involving on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring. - Must have exposure to UNIX environment. - Formal training in SAP R/3, BW, XI, EP, and Solution Manager Administration. - Formal training in Network and Telecom fundamentals is a plus. - Must speak English fluently
We are looking for someone who mainly knows XI and EP administration but with R/3 admin exposure as well.
The SAP Basis Specialist role will be: 1. Plan Operational & Systems Support Activities • Manage the development of comprehensive, business- aligned annual work plans for the SAP Systems Engineering team and propose budgets for the work program. • Provide input to the identification/piloting of new computing operations processes and procedures against clear improvement objectives, within agreed time scales, resources and budget & analyze and evaluate pilot feedback. • Execute and manage the planning of SAP server infrastructure fallback processes, services and procedures as well as plans for regular testing of same. • Provide input to the plan for an integrated computing asset integrity program comprising preventive maintenance of all key SAP computing assets. • Contribute details to ensure that Clients’s SAP computing infrastructure is fully compliant with applicable security standards and policies. • Contribute details to a look-ahead plan/roadmap for ensuring that clients’s future SAP infrastructure requirements can be met in a timely fashion.
2. Execute, Monitor & Review Infrastructure Performance • Execute and manage SAP computing infrastructure optimization projects • Manage the process for the execution of SAP systems engineering annual work plans with particular emphasis on preventive maintenance as well as the testing of disaster recovery plans. • Monitor, review and report on SAP Infrastructure Integrity and Capacity vis-à-vis known business requirements. • Monitor and report on SAP systems engineering team performance vis-à-vis Service Level Agreements (SLA), HSE plans, KPI’s and KBA’s. • Contribute to and manage the process for the proactive periodic SAP Infrastructure vulnerability assessment including Trust Domain compliance. • Contribute to the process for the management and reporting on the systems engineering associated budget performance. • Execute SAP infrastructure systems engineering best practices in line with technology development, global initiatives, business needs and growth, focusing on areas that include: • Support Packages management • AIX OS installation and patching • SAP R/3, BW, Portal, XI and Solution Manager software installation and patching • Software evaluation and deployment • Hardware evaluation and selection • System monitoring & troubleshooting • Print management • Understand and implement system security • Understand, implement and manage disaster recovery configuration
