Job Description:
High visibility, high impact position for experienced ambitious go-getter, bright end-to-end systems engineer who has progressed to a senior level (Director, VP, CTO) in wireless radio access networks systems AND has employment experience working directly for a Tier 1 executive management consulting firm providing strategic and technical services to mobile operators in Europe. This is in systems engineering consulting, NOT IT related.
If you are fluent in English and at least one EU language, have expertise in two or more of the following end-to-end systems design areas: WiMAX/LTE, femtocells, Data Message Handler, Fixed Mobile Convergence and IP Multimedia Subsystems, streaming mobile video platforms, and Open Access Networks; have a combined track record in business negotiating and deadlines skills, systems architecture and product road mapping technical skills, and consulting deal-closing skills; and you prefer the opportunity in engaging executives that lead the mobile operator and cellular infrastructure vendors; plus you want the executive compensation level that comes with it – let’s talk.
This is a permanent position with high preference for the candidate to be in Switzerland (Zurich or Zug area) or relocate to Switzerland or be in the Netherlands. Must be an EU citizen, dual EU/USA citizenship or travel visa to USA also required.
Abba Wireless Executive Search Group has been retained by a well-established executive technical management consulting firm that provides technical, operational, and strategic Subject Matter Expertise to mobile operators worldwide.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidates have a demonstrated expertise in working on end-to-end systems design in radio access networks infrastructure, as well as experience for a Tier 1 consulting firm in leading client engagements in Project Management ranging from pure strategy to content-led engineering design/development program management by pulling together and driving cross-functional client teams to deliver new products and programs. In addition, business and negotiating skills a MUST!
Requires a MSEE or MSCS with MBA or PhD-EE with at least 5+ years working for a mobile network systems infrastructure vendor in end-to-end Radio Access Network systems design. Additional experience in Product Management or Systems Software Development with an expertise AT LEAST TWO or more of the following: WiMAX/OFDMA, femtocells, Open Access Networks, Fixed Mobile Convergence, IP Multimedia Subsystems, TIA 124 (Data Messaging Handler), TIA 856, or TIA 637.
In addition, you MUST have a minimum of 3+ years as an employee for a Tier 1 executive management consulting firm (as in AT Kearney, Bearing Point, McKinsey, Cap Gemini, Arthur D Little, Accenture, Deloitte, BAIN, etc.) concentrating on leading consulting assignments and internal customer teams in the mobile/wireless practice area focusing at least 50% in the European operator markets.
SPECIAL NOTE: Must be fluent read/write in English and either Swiss, German, or French. Must be willing to travel extensively as a Road Warrior 70% across Europe with some travel to USA servicing mobile operator clients and leading engagements. Must be EU Citizen or US or Canadian citizen currently living in Europe.
SPECIAL NOTE If your consulting experience is managing Professional Services for an infrastructure vendor or software outsourcing/software products vendor, or you are part of a 1-10 person consulting firm, you do NOT qualify.
