Job Description:
The newly-formed Imperial Oil Division (IOL) of Golder Associates is dedicated to performing site assessment and remediation services on Imperial Oil’s upstream and downstream oil and gas sites in Alberta and B.C. This team of dynamic professionals and technicians requires Project Coordinators to be an integral part of its leadership.
Duties will include but are not necessarily limited to:
• Scheduling of field staff and subcontractors
• Project accounting, tracking and reporting requirements
• Compile data for reports
• Interface with client’s Project Managers to ensure needs are met
• Participation in a team environment, working closely with Project Managers and Field Technicians
• Work with other Project Coordinators as a team to ensure provision of the support necessary for completion of projects
• Work with and provide support to other members of the IOL Division in sharing project management, project completion and client service responsibilities
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a university degree or diploma in engineering and natural or earth sciences, and a minimum of two years experience in the environmental consulting industry with a focus on contaminated site assessment and management. Preference will be given to those individuals with more extensive experience in groundwater projects, site characterization and remediation.
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
• Sound understanding of health and safety and safe procedures
• Minimum of two years’ experience related to project work, with at least one year of project coordination experience
• Willingness to work in the field on projects as needed
• Ability to work patiently with and help train less experienced team members
• Strong interpersonal, communication and key judgment skills
