Job Description:
The incumbent will provide proactive, timely and legally sound assistance to Managers and employees to help build high-performing discipline teams. The duties will include, but not be limited to:
-developing recruitment strategies to successfully attract highly qualified candidates to the Greater Vancouver Office and BC Region;
-participating in the employee selection process;
-coaching Managers to successfully integrate and develop high-performing employees;
-leading programs to increase employee engagement;
-communicating human development initiatives;
-mentoring and developing junior members of the Human Development team;
-providing general guidance and support to employees;
-assisting employees to resolve conflicts;
-assisting other members of the Human Development team as required; and
-coordinating exiting employee processes.
Job Requirements:
To accomplish these objectives, the incumbent will work closely on a dynamic team with the B.C. Region Leader of Human Development, our Pay and Benefits Coordinator, our Recruitment Coordinator and our Human Development Assistant, as well as a variety of support professionals throughout the nation. We look forward to the incumbent’s strategic ideas with enthusiasm, and expect that the incumbent will be instrumental to implementing programs and actions that will continue our standards of excellence.
Qualification:
The successful applicant will have 3 to 6 years of experience directly relating to the development of the high-performing employees, as well as a formal education in human resources. Candidates should have a proven track record of building trusting relationships with internal client groups and with handling confidential information. In addition, applicants should be enthusiastic about working on a customer service focused team, have a high personal standard of excellence and a positive, resilient nature. Knowledge of the engineering, mining and/or sciences consulting industry would be an asset, as would a CHRP designation.
