Job Description:
Golder Associates is looking for an Intermediate Fisheries Biologist in our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office. As an Intermediate Fisheries Biologist, the candidate’s responsibilities will include: • Designing and undertaking fish and fish habitat field evaluations or other types of aquatic sampling programs; • Developing fish habitat no net loss strategies/habitat compensation plans; • Preparing fish and fish habitat environmental impact assessments for various types of developments including power, mines, transportation, oil and gas facilities and pipelines; • Initiating and managing projects; • Supervising and training junior staff; • Liaising with clients; • Making presentations and representing clients at meetings; • Preparing proposals and reports; • Applying advanced methods/techniques to problem solving and assessments; • Performing data and statistical analysis; and • Responsible for the health and safety of team members during projects.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess: • University degree in Aquatic Biology or Environmental Sciences. A minimum requirement of a Master’s or Ph.D. degree with 4 years experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of specific-related experience. • Excellent technical writing, communication and project management skills. • Project development, design, management and implementation experience. The following skills are desirable: • Consulting industry experience with extensive working knowledge of fisheries requirements related to industrial developments and their impacts. • Strong working knowledge of aquatic ecosystems within western and northern Canada.
