Job Description:
Internal Communications Coordinator

Position Overview: We have an opening for a newly created position within our Calgary Office as an Internal Communications Coordinator. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating internal office communications including writing and editing content. The individual will be part of our Corporate Services Team and will work closely with the senior team to ensure a consistent and efficient approach to internal communications for our 550 person office.

Key Responsibilities: • In collaboration with the Calgary senior team, develop a clear, consistent and effective communications framework for our office • Liaise with our National Communications Coordinator to ensure the effective delivery of national communications within the Calgary office • In the context of continuous improvement, identify gaps and propose innovative methods to improve our internal communications • Review, format and edit existing material for final release • Write clear, concise content for internal communications and newsletter that reflect a consistent overall tone • Working with the office intranet coordinator, ensure adequate communiqués are uploaded at the appropriate time to reach the communications objectives • Work closely with the managers of our different Divisions to support their communication needs around business updates, strategies and company initiatives • Act as an information resource for questions related to communications

Job Requirements:
Qualifications: • Possess a degree in Journalism, English, Communications or a related field and at least five years of writing/editing experience; graduate degree preferred • Good knowledge of different communication channels and proven methods and requirements needed in order to improve internal communications • Strong writing and editing skills • Experience contributing to internal communications projects for a global audience from inception to delivery; both print and web-based communications • Independent, self-motivated, proactive thinker, flexible and adaptable • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills • Comfortable working with all levels within an organization; are able to work confidently under tight deadlines and have a high attention to detail • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); other communication software would be an asset (eg Publisher) • Experience in web design and maintenance would be an asset Interested applicants are encouraged to apply on-line at www.golder.com in the Career/Canada section.
