Job Description:
The successful candidate will be a member of the Calgary Accounting Team. Your primary responsibility will be to process, verify, balance and adjust Accounts Payable transactions, requiring the use of independent judgement
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring proper allocation of payables and internal accounting records .
• Matching, entering, reconciling, and balancing payables and internal accounting records.
• Facilitating, and processing cheque requisitions, employee advances, cheque runs, petty cash and travel compensation requests.
• Processing and recording accounts receivable transactions .
• Researching and resolving accounts payable issues with vendors and internal clients, including proper follow-up.
• Maintaining and organizing project chargeable backup.
• Educating and training the consulting staff on the capabilities of the accounting system to meet their needs.
• Facilitating the accounts payable team’s needs including, training, cross-training, maintaining high standards and ensuring the effective operation of the accounts payable process.
• Providing leadership, coordination and distribution of work within the Calgary accounts payable process.
• Suggesting and implementing improvements to the accounts payable process to support the company’s goal of continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
• Community College diploma or certificate, in an accounting related field or equivalent, preferred.
• Intermediate to senior level MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and detailed-oriented nature.
• Has developed leadership skills and utilizes skills such as problem solving, decision making and time management.
• Has developed interpersonal skills, written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
