Sales Manager
Our Client is a leader in their field and we are currently searching for a Sales Manager. The Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities of a Calgary based truck component manufacturer and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base and contribute to the development and training for customers and Territory Managers.
Responsibilities:
• Develops a business plan and sales strategy to ensure sales goals and profitability are achieved.
• Develops and maintains all sales related budgets, forecast and pricing.
• Responsible for the performance and development of the Customer Support team and Territory Managers.
• Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
• Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
• Development and implementation of marketing plans.
• Conducts one-on-one review with the Customer Support team and all Territory Managers to build more effective communications, understand their training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance.
• Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
• Maintains accurate customer records in companies CRM program and ensures Territory Managers are doing the same.
• Assists Territory Managers in preparation of proposals and presentations.
• Prepares and maintains all Distributor Agreements and related documentation.
• Prepares monthly Territory Manager Commission reports.
• Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
• Reviews, approves and submits reimbursements for all Territory Manager travel expenses.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
• Recruits and hires Territory Managers based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.
• Any other duties as assigned.
Relationships - Internal / External:
• Insures that all Territory Managers meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
• Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
• Sets examples for Territory Managers in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills and work habits.
• Travels with and conducts regular coaching and counselling with Territory Managers to build motivation and selling skills.
• Travels to and maintains contact with all corporate customers in North America to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
• Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
Job Specifications:
• 5 – 7 years of experience in sales management.
• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
• Travel and work with the North American team and globally as required.
• Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams.
• Experience with CRM software (SAP Business One) would be an asset.
